These are the terms under which we offer this website and our space-hire service. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.

About us

This website is operated by Lains Coffee House, a family-run coffee shop based at Sullivan Court, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, SG18 8SZ. You can contact us at lainscoffeehouse@outlook.com.


Using this website

You're welcome to use our website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use it in any way that breaks the law

  • Try to gain unauthorised access to any part of it

  • Upload or transmit viruses or harmful code

  • Copy, republish, or commercially exploit our content without our permission

We do our best to keep the site up and running, but we can't guarantee it'll always be available or free of errors. We may change, suspend, or remove parts of the site at any time.


Our content

All content on this site‚ text, photos, logos, design, and so on, belongs to us or our licensors. You're welcome to share links to our pages, but please don't reproduce our content elsewhere without asking first. We're usually happy to say yes.


Links to other websites

Where we link out to other websites, we do so because we think they might be useful. We're not responsible for the content of other sites and linking to them doesn't mean we endorse everything on them.


Workshops & event hire 

If you're booking our space for a private event, party, workshop, or group meeting, the following applies in addition to these general terms:

Workshops

  • To be paid in full at time of booking


Workshops Cancellations

  • Full refund if cancelled 7 days prior to event.

Event hire

  • Bookings are provisional until confirmed by us in writing.

  • A deposit of £25 is required to secure the date. The balance is due 10 Days before the event.

  • Final numbers, dietary requirements, and any catering details should be confirmed at least 10 Days before the event.
     

Event hire cancellations and changes​

  • Cancellations more than [TIMEFRAME, e.g. 14 days] before the event: full refund of any deposit paid.

  • Cancellations between [TIMEFRAME] and [TIMEFRAME] before the event: deposit is non-refundable, balance not yet due.

  • Cancellations less than [TIMEFRAME] before the event: full booking fee payable.

  • If we have to cancel (for any reason within our control), we'll refund everything you've paid.


During your event

  • You're responsible for the behaviour of your guests and for any damage to the premises or equipment beyond reasonable wear and tear.

  • Last entry, finishing time, and any noise restrictions will be agreed when you book.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service or end an event if anyone is being unsafe, abusive, or behaving in a way that puts other guests or staff at risk.


Food, drink, and allergies

  • All catering is provided by us unless we've specifically agreed otherwise in advance.

  • Please let us know about allergies and dietary needs when you book. We take this seriously and will do our best to accommodate, but we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.


Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Beyond that, we're not liable for any loss or damage that wasn't reasonably foreseeable, or for any business losses (we're a coffee shop, not a commercial supplier).


Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website at the time of your booking is the one that applies to it.


Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
